Glenshiel 1719-2019

Two of our trustees were involved in the 300th anniversary programme commemorating the Battle of Glenshiel and the Jacobite Rising of 1719. The events were organised by the Association of Highland Clans and Societies in conjunction with the 1745 Association. After an evening of talks in Inverness, attendees were taken by coach along Loch Lomond to the stunning Eilean Donan Castle, which suffered badly for its part in the Rising, where there were further presentations in the nearby village hall. Guests then moved on to Glenshiel Battlefield, were wreaths were laid in honour of all who fought on both sides.
