BATTLE OF PINKIE - spectacular event

The Battle of Pinkie Cleugh was brough vividly to life by some of Britain and Ireland's finest re-enactment societies on 16-17 September 2017.

Dramatic battles, furious cavalry charges, and fascinating living history encampments wowed the audience, who themselves battled torrential rain to witness the climactic engagement.

We were delighted to welcome John Seymour, Duke of Somerset, to open the event as descendant of the English commander in 1547; and a letter of welcome and reflection was read from his Scottish counterpart, the Duke of Hamilton.

Our thanks to all the wonderful participants, everybody who came to enjoy the weekend despite the weather, and of course to our main sponsors Event Scotland and East Lothian Council.
